A very good Pu Er at a reasonable price, made from old tea trees from a northern, little-known area. Traditional crafting and sun-dried. Produced especially for us, with our package and seal. This tea comes from an isolated tea garden high up on the mountain, situated in an unknown and intact region within the Wuliangshan mountain-chain. In order to keep the tea pure and untouched by human activities, this young producer has set up a little tea-factory on the mountain, where the Maocha is produced, in the midst of the tea garden. The tea is then pressed in the village.
Category:
Sheng Cha - Rohe Pu Er Sheng Cha, Raw Tea, or literally: live tea, are Pu Er teas of the traditional type. The tea leaves are briefly heated after the withering process, then formed and dried in the sun, or, with simpler qualities, also by hot air. This so-called Mao Cha, Unfinished Tea, is either pressed into different forms or stocked and sold as Sancha, Loose Tea. Old Sheng Cha teas differ significantly from young ones. When young, they are wild: tart, and at the same time extremely mellow and sweet. As they age, they become more mature: the tart taste goes over into spicy, and then turns into incredible aromas of moist earth. The sweetness then remains subtly in the background.
Storage:
Fresh and pleasant to drink, combining slightly tart and sweet notes. This tea undergoes a process of microbial fermentation while stored, during which it loses freshness and tartness, while gaining depth, sweetness and earthy notes.
