Tea plant varietal:
A good and simple White Tea in a rather fair fashion, very large leaves and with hardly any buds, hence in the Chinese understanding a Shoumei. It's often sold as Baimudan (formerly written Paimutan) in Europe though. Contrary to most simple Bai Mu Dan, this tea is genuinely from Fuding, giving him more of the typical taste of this type of tea.
Category:
Bai Mu Dan Bai Mu Dan teas are white teas for which two leaves and a bud are harvested and processed, for better qualities only one leaf and the bud are plucked. The name literally means white peony. Classical Bai Mu Dan come from the villages of Fuding and Zhenghe in the province of Fujian, China, but today this kind of tea is also being produced in other regions as well. Bai Mu Dan teas are smoothly mellow in taste, light to the palate, yet comparatively strong.
