This tea has been produced by Liang Jun De from the valley of Tongmuguan. It is made from old tea plants (approximately 100 years old), produced as a whole leaf black tea of great quality, delicately smoked over a pine wood fire. Very balanced and aromatic, the smoky notes keep subtly in the background, strengthening the character of the tea. The name Laocong Zhengshan refers to the old tea bushes.

Yan Xiao Zhong (Rauchtee) Yan Xiao Zhong, Smoked tea, originally comes from Tongmuguan near Wuyishan and nowadays it is being produced in the whole of Fujian province. The original smoked tea, the Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, Small variety genuinely from the Mountain, which has been known since 1851, probably resulted from an accident: an army that passed through the area needed accommodation, and the drying tea leaves had to be put outside close to the fire pits, where it came in contact with the smoke. Even today the Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong teas, smoked over pine wood, are considered as being the best specimens of this type of tea. Simpler, industrially produced (and often strongly smoked) teas are called Tarry Lapsang Souchong. Yan Xiao Zhong teas are, depending on the basis tea used, soft or moderately strong in the taste of the tea and range from plain to highly aromatic. Added to this, one can find subtle but also very strong smoke aromas.
